UHC to Receive Donated Minivan from Motor City Community Credit Union

In celebration of International Credit Union Day, Motor City Community Credit Union is giving back to the local community. Taking place this year on Oct. 18, International Credit Union Day celebrates the spirit of credit unions and raises awareness about how credit unions are involved in their local communities. MCCCU is highlighting their community involvement by donating a minivan to the Unemployed Help Centre of Windsor, which can be used for multiple agency purposes.

“We are so grateful for this amazing donation from Motor City Community Credit Union,” said June Muir, CEO of the Unemployed Help Centre. “Having a minivan at our disposal will help to ensure we maintain our presence across the area– whether we’re out picking up Coats for Kids donations, at job fairs or visiting our farmers and growers to further educate them about the Plentiful Harvest Food Rescue program. The UHC name will definitely be seen on our local roads.”

Marketing and Community Relations Manager for MCCCU, Becky Langlois, said the organization is proud of their local heritage and enjoys helping members enhance their financial lives, while also contributing to important community initiatives.

“Please accept this donation as a small token of our appreciation for all you provide for less fortunate in our community,” said Langlois. “As your community partners continue to expand, so does your outreach and this is proof that you make such a difference for so many. On behalf of Motor City’s 13,000 members, staff, management and board of directors, please accept this Dodge minivan locally built right here in our community.”

The donation announcement and exchange of keys is taking place Thursday, Oct. 18 at 12 p.m. at the MCCCU branch in Market Square plaza, located at 1375 Walker Rd.
