About Ron Bate

Ron Bate was a Director and Corporate Secretary of the Windsor City Centre Credit Union for 22 years. He died suddenly, on his way home from an Executive meeting on January 16, 2003. He spent his entire working career (35 years) as an Operations Supervisor with the Public Works Department of the City of Windsor and had recently retired in October, 2001. Ron was an avid model railroader and refereed many levels of professional and minor hockey. His love however, was his family and the Credit Union. Ron, married to Diane Holman, was also a Father and Grandfather. Ron was one of the Credit Union’s most dedicated Directors and was a strong advocate of the Credit Union system. His decisions would always lean towards what was best for the Members. He was usually the first to arrive and the last to leave meetings. He also had a humorous side and would entertain, sometimes unknowingly, with his way with words, witticisms and thought provoking sayings. Not only did we lose a good friend, the Credit Union lost a great Director.
