Vice President Wealth Management

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Wealth Management group’s business growth, governance and team management.
  • Champion an advice-focused wealth management group to deepen member relationships and enhance Motor City operations, processes, and platforms.
  • Oversee the development and incorporation of a member needs discovery and financial planning process and tools into the Motor City advisory model.
  • Establish and monitor group and individual goals to assess the success, effectiveness, and consistency in the delivery of comprehensive wealth solutions.
  • Drive achievement of these goals through business plans, wealth tools and practices.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of all groups involved in wealth management member experience, the process of engagement, and ensure it aligns with Motor City’s member experience.
  • Articulate the value proposition of the Motor City Wealth Advisory model to all stakeholders.
  • Lead the relationship with external wealth management partners and vendors.
  • Support the creation and delivery of content (internal and member-facing), to drive the messaging of a comprehensive wealth offering, focusing on member experience.
  • Provide guidance on the spectrum of investment solutions offered through Wealth Management.
  • Outreach, service and advise members and prospective members in a financial advisory role.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years leadership experience combined with minimum of 5 years experience as a financial advisor within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets with a thorough understanding of financial planning.
  • IFIC licensing required (CSC, LLQP, CFP, CIM & other licensing are an asset)
  • Strong service skills – to build/maintain relationships with members, employees and management.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the relevant securities legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
  • Detail oriented, professional and analytical, and a genuine commitment to member experience.
