NOTE: It is recommended that Your Password should be different from your Personal Identification Number (PIN) used for your Flex Card debit card and kept confidential (memorize it), as it is your ‘virtual’ signature and authorization for transactions. Flex Card Debit Card Expand/Collapse

Your Flex Card debit card provides safe and secure access to your account(s) through a worldwide network of ATMs and most retail merchants in Canada and the US. It gives you the freedom to access your funds instantly, and the control to spend only what you can afford. All you need is your own Personal Identification Number (PIN) which you can obtain and/or change any time at your local MCCCU branch.

Interac ® Flash Security Highlights

Interac has measures in place to ensure Flash is one of the most secure methods of payment. This includes:

  • Zero Liability Policy – if you have you card stolen or misplace it and unauthorized Flash transactions take place you will be reimbursed 100% of your loss. Read the policy here.
  • Single Transaction Spend Limit – single transactions cannot exceed $100, if they do the transaction will require the card to be inserted with the chip and authorized by your PIN. Note: Some merchants may have set different single transaction limits than $100.
  • Cumulative Transaction Spend Limit – Cumulative transactions under $100 can be made up to a limit of $200. Once the $200 limit is reached the transaction will require the card to be inserted with the chip and authorized by your PIN.
  • Specially design technology to protect it from electronic pick pocketing attacks

With the Motor City Mobile App you can:

Interac® e-Transfer Expand/Collapse

The simple, secure way to transfer money from anywhere to anyone. Here are some of the great features of e-Transfer® we offer:

Send and Receive Money

Send or receive money in a snap with Interac e-Transfer. All you need is an email and/or mobile phone number and an account at a Canadian financial institution. As a sender, you don't need to worry about figuring out where the person banks and they won't know where you do your banking, because all account details and financial institutions are kept confidential.

Whether you owe a friend for pizza, need to pay your share of the rent or expect to receive a payment from a customer, we've got you covered.

It's easy. There's no need to set up any new accounts, user IDs or passwords. As long as both parties have online banking accounts, all you need to send or receive money is the recipient's mobile phone number or email address.

It's secure. When you send an Interac e-Transfer by text or email, the money never travels with the message. Instead, recipients receive an encrypted link to deposit the funds using their own banking credentials.

It's convenient. With Interac e-Transfer, you can use any computer or mobile phone to send or receive money instantly by text or by email. Whether you owe your friend, he owes you or they just don't take plastic, you'll never need to worry about carrying cash again.

It's quick. Recipients are notified by email and/or text that they have received a payment within approximately 30 minutes from when the sender initiates the transfer.

Ways to use it

To start using Interac® e-transfer, visit your nearest Motor City branch to have a Member Representative activate this feature on your account.

Interac e-Transfer is a quick and convenient way to transfer money for almost anything, such as:

  • Repaying money you borrowed from a friend
  • Sending cash to children at college or university
  • Transferring your share of rent to your roommate
  • Sending money in place of a gift
  • Paying the invoices of suppliers (on single and dual-signature business accounts)

Request Money

Interac e-Transfer® Request Money allows you to request money you are owed from anyone with a valid email address or mobile number and a bank account at any Canadian Financial Institution that supports this feature. 

After you send a request for money, the recipient is notified instantly and can accept the request. After it is accepted, the requested amount will be automatically deposited into your account and a notification will be sent to you informing you that the funds have been deposited to your account. 

This feature is perfect for anyone who is owed money, from that friend who still hasn’t paid you back for that concert ticket to a business owner looking to receive payments.

How it works

  1. Log in to online banking or the mobile App and navigate to “Request Interac e-Transfer®” feature found within the “Transfers" section.
  2. Create a new contact or select a pre-existing contact that you wish to send the request for money to.
  3. Type in the amount you are requesting and select the account you want the funds deposited into. You can add a personalized message outlining the nature of the request, an invoice number and a due date if needed.
  4. After the request has been fulfilled funds are deposited into the specified account you selected and you are notified.

Note: when you initiate a Request Money your account will be subject to a service charge when the other person accepts the request and the funds are deposited into your account. As an introductory offer Motor City will waive this charge. When the new fee takes affect, a message will appear before you confirm the transaction.


This feature allows the money you are being sent from an Interac e-Transfer® to be automatically deposited into your account without having to answer a security question. All you need to do is register your email address with Interac, and any e-Transfer® sent to that email address will automatically be deposited into your chosen account. This service is free to sign up for and free to use!

How it works

  1. Set up your email:
    1. In Online Banking: navigate to “Send Interac e-Transfer” under “Transfers.” In the center of the screen click on “Autodeposit” and follow the instructions.
    2. In the Mobile App: navigate to “Settings,” select “INTERAC e-Transfer®,” click on “Autodeposit” and then follow the instructions.
  2. Select your primary account where you want transfers to be deposited to automatically.
  3. An email notification will be sent out to complete registration. Once completed you can now receive an e-Transfer® without having to answer a security question.

    With Deposit Anywhere, you can quickly and securely deposit cheques with your smartphone or tablet, from anywhere, day or night.

    So whether you’re at coffee with friends, at work, or staying up late to get your banking done—any time is the right time to deposit cheques.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. Open the app on your smartphone
    2. Select your account and enter the amount
    3. Snap a photo of the front and back of your cheque
    4. Confirm the details and tap “submit”. That’s it.

    Web Browser Enabled

    Motor City's Mobile Web Service allows users to perform banking functions on mobile devices that have browser capabilities. Our Mobile Web Service supports a wide number of devices, but Smartphone users will have the best experience in using this service.

    With Mobile Web Banking you can:

    • View account balance and activity
    • Perform immediate and post-dated transfers
    • View scheduled transfers
    • Perform immediate and post-dated payments
    • View scheduled bill payments
    • Delete scheduled bill payments

    How do I register for Mobile Web Banking?

    If you are registered for Online Banking, no additional registration is required. You will simply need your account number and Online Banking password to login to your accounts through the Motor City’s Mobile Web Service at https://www.mcccu.com/m.

    What are the benefits of Mobile Web?

    • You can access banking information anywhere at any time
    • You can pay bills and transfer funds at any time which helps avoid late fees
    • You can manage budgets by being able to check account balances before making a purchase
    • You can find a Motor City branch or ATM at any time

    Is there a cost for Mobile Web?

    Motor City Credit Union's Mobile Web Service is free. Regular transaction fees associated with your bank account will apply. There may be additional costs related to accessing the internet using your mobile device. Please check your wireless plan or verify with your wireless carrier.

    What is Memorized Accounts?

    Motor City's Mobile Web Members can use memorized accounts to speed up the login process. The Memorized Accounts function can be used with mobile devices that have desktop level browsers to "memorize" the branch account numbers for those who access Mobile Web Services. The benefit is that Members do not have to enter them each time they log in.
